On-site café offering refreshments at the visitor centre
Just came across this place and glad we did! Beautiful and shaded which is needed during the heatwave! Free parking. Put in for the visitors centre on your sat nav else you end up at a side entrance in the middle of a housing estate! We stopped for a coffee and took the grandson to the park there. If you have kids 10+ this place has the most amazing assault course set up I've seen!! Adults can use it too! Worth a visit just for that! 😂 Park has a good set up for younger ones too and my grandson spent a while playing. There's a sandwich pit area fenced off so take a bucket and spade!! Away from the cafe and park area there are a couple of walks in different directions. We have yet to fully explore but the but we did was a wildlife haven with some of the most butterflies I have seen in a while. This place is absolutely amazing for insects. Plenty of birds too. Main area has squirrels around the play park area as they have a large feeding table there and the squirrels and birds use it. We are going back as soon as it's a little cooler to explore!!
What a lovely park! Lots of paths to walk, you can make your walk as long or as short as you want. The play park is nice for kids and the cafe is great, lovely cakes and the staff are very nice. The prices are reasonable to. Our dog loves coming for walks too!
Visited here today. Nice place. Free parking. Playground and picnic areas and benches. Very accessible. Cafe and visitor center. A pond and nice easy walks for everyone
Fantastic area for dog walks, lots of different paths, not always signposted but it's difficult to get lost. Lots of seats scattered around, very peaceful place. There is a busier area near the lake and the cafe, but you can also find seclusion. Have been here in summer and winter, shaded areas in summer, some muddy areas in winter, but there are also hard pathways. Something for everyone. Large carpark, make sure you put visitors centre into sat nav, as there is a smaller carpark which is on the opposite side and only has 4 spaces. Did spot deer so keep eyes open.
Brierley Park is an excellent place to exercise yourself and your pet dog, it's a very pleasant and relaxing walk down to the lake where there's lots of wildlife to observe. There's lots of trails to keep you interested for a few hours, even through the centre of the golf course and onto Hardwick view. The visitor centre has a good selection of foods and another great place to sit and relax with a very friendly atmosphere... All in all the whole area is well worth a visit...
