Brixton rec has a fantastic swimming pool, large and clean. Rhe showers are good and not scaldingly hot, unlike those at most municipal pools. The lovely redheaded lady on reception is so friendly and welcoming, as well as responsive and helpful when dealing with issues. The other reception staff are pleasant too. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the changing rooms could do with an update, with broken door latches and lockers, and are not always as clean as they could be. But overall, a great swimming pool and a real community asset ☺️

The soft play is really big and fun for the kids. We have also done bowling and karaoke - great fun too. It's great to see these new activities becoming available. The minigolf over at Ferndale also brilliant. The thing we don't use is the pool because the kids pool is sometimes very cold

The cleanliness of the pool facilities is so poor I'm considering taking my kid out of swimming lessons. The change rooms have been a disaster for far too long, nothing seems to be happening to fix them. Just lots of signs falsely proclaiming that hygiene and cleaning are a top priority (clearly a lie). The centre shut for 3 days a couple of weeks ago for the installation of a new "energy system" for improved hot water etc. Nobody took that opportunity to deep clean. There are showers, toilets, urinals and lockers broken everywhere. The floors are disgusting to walk on. I'm certain the plastic disposable blue shoe coverings are not there to protect the pool area, but to stop our shoes from being ruined from the grime! The place stinks and is utterly disgusting. Management need to do something about this as it effectively needs to be shut down and condemned in its current state. Oh the booking system and website are useless too. Can't do anything unless you basically go into reception and talk to a human. Sessions booked online sometimes don't even exist in reality. So good luck!

Machines constantly out of order, often for months at a time. Stepper has been out of action since JANUARY! (Writing this in June). Gym floor is often filthy, covered with dust mirrors are never cleaned. Reception and gym staff are friendly, upper management have really let them down by providing standards far below what should be considered ‘adequate’. Fix up! EDIT 3/2/26 Reduced the rating to 1 star as believe it or not…NOTHING has been done. Not even the mirrors have been cleaned in 6 months. Machines still out of order. Dust and dirt EVERYWHERE!

Reasonably priced memberships, nice pool, and gym has most of what you need. Would be great if the centre was open later, and the equipment was fixed quicker, but appreciate these issues require money and investment. However the centre would benefit from a few simple improvements that wouldn't cost too much such as: - A clear Pool Timetable (so you know when to avoid the pool due to lessons and classes) - More regular cleaning of the changing room floor for the pool - Some room sprays for the Class Workout rooms - Improved app functionality
