Meet rescued farm animals and wildlife at this caring sanctuary offering family visits, educational experiences, and a secure dog run in the Black Country.

Brockswood Animal Sanctuary is a dedicated rescue and care facility celebrating over 20 years of providing second chances to animals in need. Visitors can meet a diverse range of rescued residents including farm animals such as sheep, goats, pigs, ponies, and donkeys, alongside smaller creatures like rabbits, guinea pigs, and ferrets, plus birds including owls, peafowl, and parakeets, and even reptiles like turtles. The sanctuary is open daily during summer holidays (10am-4pm, last entry 3pm) and welcomes families to learn the stories behind each rescued animal. The site combines animal welfare with community engagement, offering visitors the chance to understand the importance of animal rescue and care. Beyond standard visits, Brockswood offers unique experiences including a secure dog run where visitors' pets can enjoy off-lead play in a safely fenced paddock (from £5 per session), with proceeds supporting the sanctuary's ongoing animal care. The venue also features the Brockswood Green Care Programme, a nature-based support initiative designed to help visitors of all ages connect with animals and nature for well-being and personal growth. The sanctuary is dog-friendly for family visits and provides food facilities on-site. It serves families, school groups, and individuals seeking meaningful educational experiences about animal rescue, conservation, and the human-animal bond.

Nice place. Disappointed it’s not a vegan sanctuary, was a bit confused why they sold products in their cafe with cows milk and other animals products. There are many fantastic vegan alternatives they could sell instead.

Absolutely wonderful place. Massive grounds with great enclosure spaces for all the rescued animals. You can tell the people care about their animals. They all look well cared for, happy and content. Lovely play area for the children. Even a good option of food and drink. Definitely recommend it for people who want a calm day out.

Fantastic place! Staff and volunteers work SO hard to keep every rescued animal in their care happy and healthy. They have been through such alot of troubles be it Covid lockdowns, vandalism, storm damage etc. Such a lovely place to visit. It has a wide variety of animals and birds, a little cafe/gift shop, a viking village, picnic area, large play area, a smaller enclosed play area for littlies, a dog run, toilets etc. All of the animals are well cared for and respected, and they have their own back stories, names and character information available on the signage. Great place to spend a day with ALL family members including the dog! Any money they make and donations, goes back into the upkeep and maintainance, vet bills, and feed for the animals. All the staff are so welcoming and friendly! Would highly recommend as a place worthy of a visit and your support to keep it going. Personal favourites have to be Malcolm the Emu, Freya the Fox and Brenda and Clare (just two of the lovely humans!)

I went with my 3 children (ages 9, 7 and 1) for something to do in the half term, and can honestly say for the price it was well worth it. A few of the animals that are on their website we didn't see/couldnt find which was the only downfall but everything else we couldnt fault. There was a good selection of animals to see and some we were able to feed, which the children really enjoyed. The only thing I would say that we didn't approve of, was around most of the fences where children would stand there were LOTS of stinging nettles which my child did sting themselves on, I think if they were tamed for me it would be a 10/10 experience. But it didn't dampen our visit, we still had a great time and will definitely be back!

Lovely morning wandering around to see the birds, rabbits, pigs, ponies and sheep. I walk with a stick but found most of it very easy to get around and just went at snails pace for the odd couple of steps and slopes. Bought a few bags of animal feed for the goats and sheep (£1 per bag) and the kids loved being able to be so close to them. There are basic toilets and a proper disabled one too which was really handy. The lady in the shop was so friendly and the cakes were nice too :) Stayed for a warm up with some coffees. The kids sat and coloured in while they drank their hot chocolates. It wasn't overly busy and it was very dog friendly. The dog run seemed to be popular.
