Navigate woodland trails, climb towers, zip wire through trees, and solve forest puzzles at Durham's most exciting outdoor adventure for families aged 2+.

Broom House Farm's Forest Adventure is an action-packed outdoor woodland experience combining physical challenges with nature-based activities. Visitors can follow numerous nature trails, attempt woodland challenges including climbing towers, sliding down slides, flying along zip wires, and daring to enter tunnels. For those preferring quieter activities, the venue offers forest quizzes with themes ranging from dragon hunting and deer tracks to learning about woodland trees. The venue is designed to appeal to families with children aged 2 and over, offering something for both thrill-seekers and those preferring gentle exploration. Adults must supervise all children under 17. The forest features ground-level activities available even in wet weather, though wooden structures can become slippery. All visitors are encouraged to wear long sleeves, trousers, and sturdy boots. Broom House Farm operates the Forest Adventure on weekends and during school holidays, with extended hours during October half term. Tickets must be purchased online in advance (£8.25 per person for ages 2+), and visitors must check in at the kiosk by the coffee shop upon arrival. Dogs on short leads are welcome throughout the site. The venue also welcomes private parties and offers educational visits.

Could easily spend the whole day here. There is so much to keep little and even big kids engaged, we did the fairy trail. All the climbing/play equipments is so well maintained, the paths are well marked, the forest beyond is clearly sectioned off so you can’t accidentally wonder off. Shielded by the tree canopies so even in a slightly wet rainy windy day, we spent 4 hours in the forest. The cafe is so decently priced , not like some of the ‘boujee’ cafes charging £3.50 for babycino which is essentially want milk. You can get an Aberdeen Angus burger fresh off the bbq for a fiver!!

Been a few times and gave it a chance but they never serve food as to their times. Breakfast stopped at 10:45 even though it states 11:30. Then told we can't order dinner until 12. Got a breakfast sandwich from the all day menu and waited more than an hour. Partner got a teacake and again waited over an hour. This isn't the first time this has happened either. Would not recommend they always say it's cause they're busy. That is no excuse, especially with a teacake.

Our kids LOVED this day out. Youngest is 3 and eldest is 7 and was great for both of them. We spent ages on the first area and there is so much to do we could have spent another few hours playing. It’s a great activity for the kids and we’d definitely go back!

We go to Broom House Farm regularly and absolutely love it every time. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is lovely, and it’s such a great place for little ones to run around and see the animals. The farm shop sells fantastic quality meat and plenty of other great local produce too. The forest adventure area is so much fun for all ages and always keeps everyone entertained. A brilliant day out for families — highly recommend!

A great day out at a reasonable price. The cafe looked lovely although full for the duration of our visit so we didnt get to enjoy it, however you could get take away hot/soft drinks. The area down to the woods is fun for the kids and once in the woods theres loads to do. Our boys loved the games and interactive areas, particularly the toboggan and zip lines. A great day out for something different with the youngsters. There is a lovely farm shop and small pig sty which is an added bonus for kids and adults alike
