Edinburgh's popular neighbourhood playground with a large central climbing structure, dedicated toddler zone, and coffee hut for parents.

Officially called West Meadows Play Area, this Bruntsfield Links playground serves as a beloved community hub where families regularly bump into school friends. The fully fenced space features a large central climbing structure with nets, balancing beams, tunnel and slide, plus a separate toddler zone with age-appropriate equipment. Regular and toddler swings, wobble boards, and a roundabout round out the offerings. A coffee hut (added in 2022) enhances the social gathering aspect. Best suited for children up to age 8, though older kids enjoy using the climbing structure for parkour games. Multiple bus routes make it highly accessible.

Great place to play a bit of relaxed "golf", have a beer and relax. You can bring your own or rent from the nearby pub for a fair price.

Stop by the golf tavern, grab a wedge, a putter, a beer and play some fun, casual golf! Short holes but a ton of fun.

It’s free! Historical short hole course, and fun for what it is. Don’t be serious about your game because you’re basically chipping and putting. The greens aren’t great and there will be people walking through your line of play. Chill out, it’s free and you’re surrounded by beautiful architecture and park space. Grab a beer at the tavern and have fun.

A great city park with nice views of the Edinburgh Castle. There is ample space for children and it is nearby a lot of amenities. This winter there was snow and it was great for sledding!
