Buckfastleigh Open Air Pool is a cherished community hub situated in the beautiful Victoria Park on the edge of Dartmoor. Originally gifted to the people of Buckfastleigh in 1887, this historic outdoor swimming pool was saved from closure in 2015 by dedicated local volunteers who continue to support and fundraise for its operations. The pool offers a friendly, welcoming environment for families and individuals of all ages. Visitors can enjoy a variety of swimming experiences including lane swimming, family swims, swimming lessons, fitness classes, and special events throughout the season. The venue also hosts cold water swimming sessions during winter months. Victoria Park itself enhances the family experience, featuring an adventure playground, skate park, and a newly opened accessible play park (opened 2024). A tuck shop on-site provides refreshments. Did a bat walk and night swim. Highly recommend this. Raises funds to maintain the pool. Staff were lovely

They allow first come first served no booking system. Had to wait 30 minutes before being able to go for the session. This was due to previous session full. Glad we chose to queue as soon filled up. Pool was good clean well maintained. A few leaves in as in a park under trees. Loads of noodles available sadly children appear to like biting chunks out of them so lots of bits floating. Sadly they don't do disabled / carers discounts like other places. So paid £20 for 2 hours swim session more than other places for 2 disabled 2 carers

We attended for a night swim and bat walk which was truly wonderful! The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, so we felt safe and welcomed. We will definitely be back

Had a lovely swim here with my Husband today.. touring around visiting lots of Lidos! Lovely warm clean pool. Community atmosphere. A basket for your clothes. Shower & toilet area looked very up to date. Loved the cute changing rooms. Friendly staff .. had to buy a swim hat!

Small skate park ideal for under 12s. Plenty of other good playground equipment on the same site. Small outdoor pool but sufficient and well staffed.
