One of our favourite places to visit, we even brought a season ticket. My little one loves trains and this is the place to go. Good facilities, a miniature train to go on and to watch. Lots of steam trains to see and ride, a museum. Great friendly, knowledgeable staff. Good family fun!

We had such a fantastic day at the Thomas Train Experience at Buckinghamshire Railway Centre! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was magical for the children. Seeing Thomas and Percy up close absolutely made our little one’s day. The train rides were well organised, the staff were friendly and enthusiastic, and there were plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained throughout the day — miniature trains, live shows, games, and photo opportunities with Sir Topham Hatt. The whole venue was clean and family-friendly, with lots to explore beyond the Thomas attractions too. Although it was busy, everything ran smoothly and there was a great balance of entertainment and train rides. Definitely worth the visit for any Thomas fan and a lovely family day out with memories that will last for years. Highly recommend booking early and arriving on time to make the most of the experience!

Visitors for the first time on a Steaming Day, very enjoyable day, plenty to see, loved the rides on the two steam trains, some very Interesting buildings and artefacts in the museum. Food in the cafe was very nice and not too expensive. Only slight negative would be the car park layout, blocked off at the ends of rows so had to reverse out of them and causing issues if a car was behind you..

Absolutely lovely this place been a couple of times first with four adults and second with family and children. Both times it was great fun. Its so interactive. The Thomas day was fab for the kids to we spent literally all day there and only just managed to do everything. Traction engine rides steam engine rides, miniture train ride 👌 so much to see and in the barn all the quirky little brain teaser games and mode railways are brilliant. Definately worth going for a day out with the kids.

The Buckinghamshire Railway Centre is a true hidden gem for railway enthusiasts, families, and anyone who loves a bit of British history and charm. The beautifully restored **Quainton Road station** instantly transports you back in time, and the collection of vintage steam and diesel locomotives is incredibly impressive. Seeing the trains up close — and even riding in the classic carriages — is a magical experience for both children and adults. The museum exhibits are thoughtfully curated, offering fascinating insights into Britain’s railway heritage. The volunteers and staff deserve special praise — they are friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do, which really enhances the experience. There’s plenty of space to explore, great photo opportunities everywhere, and a lovely relaxed atmosphere throughout. Whether you’re a serious train enthusiast or just looking for a wholesome, educational family day out, this place delivers in every way. Highly recommended — we’ll definitely be returning! 🚂✨
