A beautiful spot to visit in the New Forest. Even if you don’t go inside the museum, there is still plenty to see, including lovely walks and various spots to sit and enjoy the stunning views. There are often events and special occasions held there, so check their website to see what’s on. The Master Builder’s pub is also well worth a stop; it is great for a pint in the summer or a cosy Sunday lunch in winter.

Nice area to visit. Went on river cruise but not much to see. Pub expensive. Didn't visit museum. Gift shop well stocked but small. Good size car park with overflow, enter registration when leaving to pay due to anpr recording entry time. Toilets at entrance.

Went to visit with The Nelson Society on Friday. The shipyard is good for anyone into Maritime History, the Age of Sail, and (ofc) Nelson!! The museum is super information-rich and their staff are 10/10 friendly and helpful. The boat trip is also highly recommended for the scenic views and the voiceover.

Visited Buckler’s Hard in the New Forest National Park and really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. This historic riverside village is well known for its shipbuilding history, with naval ships once built here for the Royal Navy in the 18th century. The area is beautifully preserved, with charming cottages, scenic walking paths, and lovely views along the Beaulieu River. The surroundings were calm and relaxing, making it a great place for a quiet walk and a day out in nature. Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy history and countryside scenery.
