A woodland-surrounded playground in South Edinburgh with a scenic walking path connecting to Seven Acre Park through the trees.

Buckstone Park's defining feature is its woodland setting—the playground sits surrounded by trees, creating a natural atmosphere unlike typical urban parks. Equipment includes swings, basket swing, toddler play unit, and a multi-play structure with net, climbing features, balancing bridge and slide. While the equipment itself appears somewhat tired, the real appeal is the ability to extend visits by exploring the surrounding woodland. A scenic walking path through the trees connects Buckstone to nearby Seven Acre Park—a much nicer route than the main road. Best for toddlers and younger children (ages 3-8) who enjoy combining playground time with nature exploration.

Lovely walk, was a bit slippery as it's been raining and not a place to go if you are in a wheelchair.

Could be a lovely park it's very old and worn looking my 4 year old got bored after 5 minutes. The green space could be doing with few picnic tables. The bin is overflown and stinks of dog poo and local dog walkers don't seem like strangers in play park.

Fantastic woods for people to explore. There is also a good little playpark, although this is starting to get a bit tired now. There are proposals to improve the playpark but current council funding is tight

In need of renovation, repair or even replacement (installed in 1999). Tatty, messy, paint peeling, over grown. Swings have been removed, as have climbling ropes recently, presumably because they weren't safe. Positioned at just over 600 ft above sea level, this is possibly the highest park in Edinburgh, and is certainly more than a bit weatherworn. A bit of an eyesore in an area that is otherwise surrounded by nice housing.

I don't have much to say about the park. It's well maintained fine to go on a quick walk around and good for children. The only downside I can think of is that I have seen dog poo on the paths in the woods multiple times. This isn't due to a lack of maintenance however as I believe this is because of dog owners not taking care of their surroundings.
