I had a fantastic visit to the Bury Transport Museum. It’s a fascinating place with a great collection of vintage buses, trams, and railway exhibits that really bring local transport history to life. Everything was well presented, and the volunteers were friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer questions. The atmosphere was welcoming, and there was something interesting for both adults and children. I especially enjoyed seeing the beautifully restored vehicles and learning about their history. If you're visiting Bury or the East Lancashire Railway, this museum is definitely worth a stop. A truly enjoyable and memorable experience. Highly recommended!

Great little museum right next to the station. You can pay to go in if you don't do any of the actual train rides and quite often you get free entry if you attend any of the days with events on. We recently rode the flying Scotsman and paid a visit after that. My 5 year old loves the model railway!

A great museum with plenty to look at for an hour or 2. Some incredible vehicles and artifacts which have been lovingly restored. Free entry with an East Lancs Railway ticket too!

Small but really well presented museum run by the East Lancs heritage railway. Very friendly and free to enter if you have a ticket for the railway. Some fascinating exhibits and good displays. Well worth a visit if you’re in the vicinity and certainly if you’re travelling on the train.

Lovely and interesting place to visit. Great memories and vehicles. Knowledgable staff, polite and professional.. must stress they are volunteering staff.
