Great little railway, especially for kids. Only £1 for a 2 circuit ride is good value too. My only little quibble is that it would be nice to have a basic shelter, so those watching could do so out of the rain or sun.

Lovely place, our kids love it here! Our son had his birthday party here and it was brilliant. Great value for money too.

The place is much larger than we expected and it has a small train station building next to the tracks so kids can play. It seems to be run by volunteers so you only pay a symbolic £1 per person with kids under 2 being free. Plenty of free parking as they're next to public car park. They have limited opening hours but if you're in the area while they're open it's good to always visit.

So visited today. I enjoy miniature railways, but the welcome both I and a large number of families visiting received the best of welcomes. So volunteer staff willing to take photos of your ride, experts on hand to offer tours of the workshops and advice on how to build something similar if one so wished. Bob James - a fount of knowledge, gave me so much interesting information and helpful advice and I saw other staff members making visitors very welcome and really making a great day for youngsters and adults alike! So if you want to give your youngsters a treat, or really want to know how it all works, just visit and ask. With every respect, hundreds of years of experience (across all the staff) there to make your visit really worthwhile. I came away with a same of the material they se for sleepers which will save me a lot of money on my new railway project! Sometime the real gems of entertainment and enjoyment are too well hidden away. Visit Caldecotte. Enjoy and learn! Than you Bob and your team!

If I could give them 10 stars I would! Hosted my son’s 3rd birthday here, friendly, cooperative staff, great value for money! Would highly recommend, made my son’s day a day to remember.
