Nice park with a large lake. Good children's play area, cafe , parking and lots of paths to walk along.

Very disappointed with our visit to California Country Park today. We went with family expecting a pleasant day out, only to find the water fountain reduced to a tiny trickle despite the 34°C heat. To make matters worse, the picnic tables that used to be in the shaded wooden shared area have apparently been removed for some strange reason, leaving only two tables directly under the blazing sun. Considering the extortionate £8.50 parking fee, I genuinely have to ask what Wokingham Borough Council is spending the money on, because the upkeep and facilities certainly don’t reflect the cost. I’ll be submitting an FOI request as something simply does not add up here. In the end, we packed up and left shortly after arriving, despite having already paid for parking. Wokingham BC seriously needs to reflect on what it wants this place to become.

Lovely country park. Very accessible with excellent car parking and wide even footpath around the lake. Raised boardwalk out in to the woodland over some very bright orange water and loads of horse tails. The main lake has a range of wild life swans, geese, ducks and the odd cormorant. Around the lake you'll find a nice range of British woodland birds. Facilities are great for families, toilets, café and a well equipped play area. The park is accessible via the main car park and a number of footpath linking to Finchampstead, Arborfield and Barkham

A nice walk around the lake on a cold day! Parking is easy! Really good kids area and cafe. Moving to area so will be visiting regularly

Great facilities and a woodland walk, this is a firm family favourite. The coffee shop is nice but can have a bit of a wait for food. The park is great with an area for older kids and smaller bits for the little ones. Lots of onsite parking available too.
