Amazing visit in this little museum of Whitby. Special shout out to Steve, enthusiastic volunteer, who accompanied us during part of the visit. He was so knowledgeable about every piece that was exhibited, and even went to do some extra research on one of our questions he could not answer at first. Highly recommended placed for History nerds and people simply interested to know more about this great sailor who James Cook was.

Great little museum. Not just on Captain Cook, had interesting historical facts on navigation, medicine etc too. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable.

Very interesting museum. Two adults with gift aid was £22. 4 floors of information and things to see. Staff are helpful and friendly. Gift shop is good too.

ok im a bit bias but I love anything Captain Cook he's an amazing piece of Australian history in colonisation...im not going to debate the rights or the wrongs because it's history and we can not change it ...if you take everything out of it he was an amazing seamen in his time ...this a small museum and Whitby is an absolutely beautiful little town to visit as well if your there check it out ...there is or maybe was a replica Endeavour in the bay as well that was for sale so not sure its still there . definitely work a look but sadly a floating restaurant

I only just visited this museum to buy some guide books for my work / education etc. But the shop looked very interesting, the receptionist / tour guide was nice and friendly, and the actual museum setting etc looked great! :) I did not have the time to actually go around the exhibits, but got the impression that when in Whitby this museum is not to be missed! Thanks. :)
