The wildlife reserve is excellent, and has many excellent walks of different length. We had a short walk because of my mobility issues, but we still enjoyed the nature and quiet. Many plants we hadn't seen before, it was fun to use the phone photo app to identify plants and such. The paths appeared mostly quite wide, and we saw many people with prams, and young children. I thought the walk was good for adults and children alike. Also at the visitor centre/shop at the beginning/end of trail there is a toilet and a coffee shop, which was incredibly busy, and the seating area the ground was uneven. I think the path is wide enough for a wheelchair, and the trail is flat, no hills, and there is a wooden path in some areas.

Beautiful well maintained center with a cafe, loads of information and things to check out. A cool spot outside to view the marshes with a cup of tea and a bite to eat. Clean large toilet block with plenty of free parking. There are several binoculars and telescopes to view the marshes and list of birds that have been spotted during the day. You can take a walk in the marshes and there are few people around to give advice. Lovely place for a walk or to just sit and enjoy the view.

Carlton Marshes is a pleasant place for a walk, although there was not a great deal of wildlife to see during our visit. Much of the reserve felt quite grassy, but it was a very hot day, which may have affected what was around. The main hub area is well maintained, and the decking outside gives good views across the reserve. The children’s play area also looked good, as did the café, although we did not stop for anything. Accessibility deserves a particular mention. There were well-maintained mobility scooters available to hire, which is a useful option for people who may struggle with the longer routes. Even though it was a quieter visit in terms of wildlife, I would still recommend Carlton Marshes for a peaceful walk. It is also worth donating when you visit to help support the reserve.

Absolutely fantastic, brilliant walks, seeing lots of beautiful things, after we walked to the cafe and had a great coffee and tea, very worthwhile visiting

Excellent place to go with the dogs, plenty to see and quite a few different walks depending on how much you can do. Really nice. The cafe and gift shop are also dog friendly with dog seating area in the cafe. Food a little expensive but all made from scratch and tasted amazing so I'm not complaining on the price. Definitely recommend on going. Toilets clean and tidy too.
