Absolutely magnificent 🤩 amazing views and history. Loved it

A lovely little spot. I got tickets online because they were cheaper if you book in advance. The place was spectacular, a real historical site, lots of beautiful details in the stone work and stairs in the wall to climb. They are very steep and narrow so take care. Some of the steps in the walls on the main floor of the site were covered in iron bars so no access sadly but there was another area of steps to climb outdoors which was cool. I loved this site so much. The beauty of where windows once were just looked stunning in the sunny blue sky. There are toilets inside the priory, unfortunately the ones as you come in on the left that look public are locked. I suppose to encourage people to pay to come to the site. Which I do understand.

One of the best-preserved priories I've visited - almost as impressive as Rievaulx and more to see than at Fountains. Free parking and a lovely village - don't miss the Castle at the other end of the main street. The Priory guidebook covers both so if you're buying it, get it before visiting either site.

Exceptional. I have driven past the signs for this place many times and finally decided to visit. What an absolute gem of a place. Excellent staff who explained everything very well and a reasonable audio guide. Amazing that so much still survived after Henry VIII’s dissolution of the monasteries. Highly recommended.

We had an enjoyable visit in the warm sunshine. It was lovely to read about the working priory before visiting the ruins themselves. We took several pictures and enjoyed the tranquility whilst looking round.
