Castle Gardens is one of my favourite places in Leicester. Even though it’s only about a five-minute walk from the city centre, it feels like a peaceful escape into nature. With its riverside setting and beautiful plants, it almost feels like a small botanical garden. It’s one of my favourite places to read a book, relax, or catch up with friends. The atmosphere is incredibly peaceful and calming. Seeing squirrels here is completely normal because there are so many of them, and they’re absolutely adorable. If you’re looking for a quiet place to unwind and enjoy nature without leaving the city, I highly recommend visiting Castle Gardens.

Such a lovely little park to spend some peaceful time. The park is very well maintained with beautiful trees and plants that blossom wonderfully, making the whole place feel fresh and relaxing. The river view beside the park makes it even more special, with ducks and swans swimming around adding to the beauty and calm atmosphere. A perfect small spot to relax and enjoy nature.

Rat infested. When I read some of the reviews about a rats I never thought they’d be this bad. Broad day light there were three large brown rats sitting out in the open unfazed by people walking by. If I saw them so openly I can’t imagine how many are hidden in the bushes

These gardens were lovely to wander around, making visitors welcome from the start with an introductory sign! Signs throughout provide information about the different areas for them and there is many, including different trees, leaves, bushes and hedges, even a net-like wood formation.
