My son (8), my father (62) and I (42) visited the Castletown D-Day Centre on Fathers Day and we had a truely fantastic time! As others had said, it is one of the most hands on and interactive museum experiences we've ever had. The staff and volunteers we're all excellent. There were all friendly and very informative and made the visit even better. Being able to get in most of the vehicles was a particular highlight (particularly for my 8 year old son). I'm already planning another visit with a mate in the near future. Massive thank you to the whole team at the Centre!

It possibly one of the best world war II museums. Not super large but the staff was beyond fantastic. They were friendly and very informative. Taking time with any guest. Would highly recommend. Excellent for families as well because everything was Hands-On. You could really tell the care that they've taken and put into this museum

Absolutely loved this small but very engaging interactive museum. This place is amazing though small in area it packs a lot of information and exhibits into a small area. Almost all of the vehicles you can interact with by sitting in side climbing into the back and getting a good feel for the vehicle. There are weapons as well to get hands on with as well. The volunteer staff were all brilliant. Very knowledgeable on the museums subject history and would happily engage with you and explain any of the exhibits on display. Me and my son loved it I would highly recommend going if you're interested in second world war history

What a fantastic visit! Perfectly sized for the three of us and with the interaction with staff and the equipment my boys Dig and Dyl (but also me) had an amazing time at Castletown D-Day Centre. A highlight was hopping in the Sherman after a nice picnic on the bench right by it. The staff were both nice and informative and could not do enough for us all. You are immersed into the realities of pre-D-Day preparations visually and aurally with some fantastic real life vignettes. Strongly recommend a visit to any and all military enthusiasts. Tom

It was an experience of a lifetime, we were able to interact and go inside every single piece of equipment and armoured vehicle. The staff were really helpful and extremely friendly, they were well knowledged and were happy for a chat. The whole thing was very interactive and it was an extremely helpful enjoyable experience. I would 100% go again!!! If you’re visiting Portland or live nearby I would thoroughly recommend planning a trip here. I sure know I will be coming back. And at the end of my visit I was invited onto a trip in the vehicle shown in the pictures, the video attached also shows the beginning of the ride, but it will be one I remember! Loved the trip and I am already looking forward to my next visit!!! 💯💯💯
