Beautiful hiking trail with stunning nature. Pay and display parking nearby. ARRIVE EARLY!! I arrived at 10:30am and there several vacant spots but when I left at 2pm cars were queuing for others to leave. Important note to parents: DO NOT TAKE SMALL CHILDREN if they're not able to walk several kilometres on their own. The trail is partially made of VERY SLIPPERY rock and even in hiking boots you can easily fall so it's really dangerous to take a toddler or a baby in a baby carrier. Very uneven trail at times with big roots coming out of the ground where you can easily trip. Not the easiest trail to hike but definitely worth the effort if you're up for it!

What a magical walk! Chee Dale on the Monsal Trail is absolutely stunning. Walking along the river with the limestone cliffs towering above you feels like stepping into another world. The highlight for me was the stepping stones across the river - so fun! But fair warning: they can be muddy in places. I always wear proper hiking boots, but I did see a few people in white trainers by the river and just raised my eyebrows 🤪😂 Not the best choice for this path! I had a bit of light pattering rain during my walk but honestly it was perfect - just enough to keep me cool and make the whole gorge feel even more lush and green. The scenery is incredible: river, woods, the old railway viaduct, and those dramatic rock faces. Got some great photos and felt so refreshed. Parking is free here but very limited so it's worth getting there early. Also a heads up for Komoot users - mine tried to lead me through private property with a clear "No Walking" sign 😂 I had to cut out part of the circular walk, so stick to the marked Monsal Trail paths. Overall, Chee Dale is a must-do in the Peak District. Muddy hands, happy heart, and a proper nature reset. Would 100% go back! 💚

What a lovely little river walk and hike. Well worth it. Can get busy at times , especially at the weekend. Better to come on a week day if you can.

Lovely place with loads of walking footpaths. Good cycling paths as well. Nice walk around to see the stepping stones and come back to have a nice ice cream at the end. Parking might be a problem as it's small. I love this place!

Beautiful place. Read a review on the nearby parking lot that said "prepare for MUD!" And I am happy we did, because we came prepared so we had a great time, no wet feet. Probably due to the time of year (winter) but the rivers with the stepping stones were quite high so you did have to walk in the river or try jump, so bring wellies if your goal is to walk across. There is multiple routes from the carpark so the walk can be adapted to skill level and walking length. Some stuff got a bit rocky but nothing to scary. The views were absolutely stunning no much uphill. I will wrap up the review with: prepare for MUD! Happy walking! 💕
