Such a beautiful cathedral. Staff was friendly and helpful. They had a quilt exhibit. Gardens were also lovely. So much history.

For god's sake, which is a neat way to start a review about a cathedral, you don't have to ram the fact that you survive on donations down the throats of everyone who enters. To be honest the powers that be, his holy Vicarness, or Priesty, has made it a little too touristy for my liking. The beauty of the building is the building itself, you don't need to adorn it with all the tapestry type things hanging everywhere. They knew how to build glorious structures when this glorious structure was built. They knew how the windows should be, how the woody things would be carved. It doesn't need the embellishments. Pretty cool otherwise, the builders 👷‍♀️ 👷‍♂️ done good.

If there is a cathedral , or church open , I always like to go in. Now as far as this one goes its a pretty standard affair, yes its beautiful , yes its worth visiting, but I felt there was nothing that really elevated it to the top tier of cathedrals. Some nice architecture, stained glass windows tombs and gardens. If your in chester it is well worth seeing , but it doesnt just have that wow factor for me.

Lovely old cathedral. Peaceful place to visit. You can sense the presence and the prayers of many Christians who have worshipped here over the centuries. Very well maintained and lots of pointers to make people think about God and the Saviour Jesus who came to redeem us and bring us back to the Father. A faithful witness to Jesus thank you.

Chester Cathedral is one of those places that really makes an impression as soon as you see it. The building itself is beautiful, with a lot of history behind it, parts of it date back to the medieval period, and it was originally a Benedictine abbey before becoming a cathedral. I visited on Easter, which made the experience even more special. There was a calm but meaningful atmosphere inside, and you could really feel the significance of the day. The architecture is stunning, especially the details inside. I took quite a few photos because there’s so much to look at. I went there by car, so I had to use a nearby car park. It cost me £6.50 for around 3 hours, which was fairly reasonable for the location. There’s also a café inside, we actually had lunch there, so no need to worry about getting hungry while you’re visiting this beautiful place 😄 It’s not just a place to visit, it’s somewhere you can slow down and take everything in. Whether you’re into history, architecture, or just want a peaceful place to spend some time, it’s definitely worth seeing if you’re in Chester.
