Friendly staff but small pool (17m) with highly inadequate facilities (changing rooms, showers). There's damp on the walls and the paint is flakey throughout (in the wet areas). Biggest problem is that they are often short-staffed so the pool is often closed in the morning (they do offer the option to go to Impington instead but not always easy / possible). They have been aware of an issue with the boiler for months and are only now dealing with it. They are lucky that there aren't many other pool options in the area as customers could easily go for something better. The facilities are in dire need of a refresh & significant investment is required to upgrade the facilities. I've been a regular pool / sauna user at Chesterton for a few years now (1-2 times a week) but I'm debating renewing my Annual Swim & Sauna membership as it's clearly not good value for money...

I don’t want to give this place a high rating so everyone discovers what a gem it is. Every piece of equipment you need, makes the most of space and always clean; lacks a few mirrors to keep an eye on your form but certainly enhances privacy.

All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The pool is warm, gym well equipped for my needs and the best of all is the sauna after a good workout and swim. I used to come from time to time casually. It's one of very few places in Cambridge, where you can use the sauna on pay as you go basis. I'm full member now and would really recommend the place. Other users are friendly and relaxed.

17m pool, 1.2m to 3m depth. Perfect temperature for moderate swimming and teaching. Gets deep fast so not ideal for non swimmers but forces them to learn fast! Not too busy. Often nearly empty during school holidays. Lots of equipment and toys during splash sessions. Good value at £4.50 per adult, £3.50 per child. Friendly attentive life guards. Generally clean. Showers and lockers and toilets are a bit knackered and could do with some investment.
