I don’t know if we went to the wrong entrance, but this place is extremely unfriendly to visitors arriving from train station on foot. There was no pedestrian paths towards the nature reserve area, so we had to walk along highways. The nature reserve does have a very unique habitat that hosts the Dartford warbler, but we found it frustratingly difficult to navigate because we didn’t see any signs or marks at all. There was also almost no resting spots, either. The only bench we saw was very exposed and facing the scorching summer sun so we sat there to get our bottoms grilled.
Very open place with a mix of woodland and heathland. Great spot to explore, with hills you can go up for beautiful scenery. Plenty of open paths for walking, cycling or dog walking. Car park is free.
Excellent place to walk in, listen for the different types of birds and allow your dog to enjoy all the magical smells !
Absolutely lovely to walk around so peaceful if you start early in the morning lots of free parking
Lovely open space, forest-themed natural reservation. It is excellent for jogging, walking, dog-walking and even just enjoying the scenery. The paths are initially rough but once you get to the middle it is nice graveled wide path. There are no toilets available as far as I am aware. There are a couple of car parks which are free of charge at the moment. There is a bog somewhere as well. Be careful of electric fence.
