Great volunteers and lots to do for an hour. Highly recommended. Take cash for donations.

Amazing little gem. We were super excited to visit and it didn't disappoint. My daughter got the chance to control a mini train and did a good job. The staff were lovely to let us all all on the train together with my daughter at the front and we have photos to treasure. We even made use of the lovely picnic area for a little while. Peaceful and a lovely area for everyone to enjoy. Thank you to all the staff.

Now where do I start? I suppose I start at the very beginning. On Saturday night, I was reading reviews about Cinderbarrow Miniature railway. What everybody was raving about was the picnic area. So Sunday morning comes and I decide it’s time to pack a picnic and head off for the miniature railway, Well, when I say a picnic, it’d be an honour and two packets of crisps and a bottle of Prosecco (I would like to point out at this point I’m not a drunk and I don’t really like Prosecco But I thought it would make a good picnic photo) I was a little bit concerned because I’d read reviews about the limited parking, but to be honest I managed to squeeze my Honda HRV into a small gap in the car park with no problems. Then we went to look at The model of railways and let me tell you there was an actual real steam train that was a model. I was very impressed. But now the time had come to ride on a big train or should I say a little big train. There was a few of us So I Ask the very kind lady volunteer to take a photo after a few hiccups with the camera. She took a beautiful picture of his own and it was in focus. What more could you ask for I did feel that this was a service that perhaps they could have a donation for. After a short delay gathering steam we set off around The Picnic area and I don’t want to ruin this for anybody so I won’t tell you how many laps we did. However, I’m sure the train driver is very skilled, but I did feel like he was going a little bit fast round the bends I am no expert so maybe he was driving well within his capability. But now the big moment did come it was time to sample the picnic area This is a large area with some good quality grass very thick not to be confused with long but thick and very Green. As somebody who went to college and Did grassland management I would almost think that they are using nitrogen fertiliser on their grass to make it so green and I do have to consider myself a bit of a expert On this matter, even though I only did one day of the course. The picnic Area itself was probably not as I expected I really felt I wanted a little bit more But I wouldn’t be able to tell you exactly what more I would want. The only problem I could see not that it was a problem for myself But some people in my party required use of the toilet and sadly there is not one and this is why I cannot give it five stars

Wonderfully friendly volunteers! A great afternoon out for the whole family. A lovely model railway with steam engine and toys for the children to drive. A beautiful picnic area but very sadly no toilets or facilities so not a place we could stay long at. Truly, a lack of toilets was my only disappointment but after a delicious picnic with lots of drinks it was quite an essential thing to miss!

Just fab! Volunteer run and they bring their own locomotives. It's this kind of place that makes Britain special. Book a birthday party for your grand kids here, they'll love it.
