We really enjoyed the visit 😁 lots of reading but none the less very interesting. We also walked up the hill to Abraham Darby's grave, overgrown but what a man!!! He certainly left his mark on this planet!!

An interesting museum showing the history of iron in the area and how this small town became the centre of the industrial revolution. There are two floors of exhibits and lots of information panels explaining how important Coalbrookdale was at the start of the Industrial Revolution.

Great museum which tells the story of Coalbrookdale's part in the industrial revolution and how this changed, from generation to generation. Informative display boards and objects to view. Additional exhibit as part of temporary exhibition, also very well presented. A hidden gem and worth a visit! Spent a delightful few hours here with my fourteen year old son. Younger children (depending on interest) may not be as "into" the displays but, the Enginuity museum right next door may suit them (as more hands on). Also, lovely cafe with friendly staff and great coffee and food! (Note: best Gluten Free Pizza i've ever had!). Cost of parking was reasonable and when we went, if you spent enough in the cafe, parking is then free (you nees to ask for a parking voucher when paying for food). A lovely visit - thank you to all the friendly, helpful staff at the museum and cafe! 🙂

Very very nice place to visit, loads of interesting facts and it is right across the road from Enginuity, so you can visit both at the same time. It even has a scale model of the actual Iron Bridge that is very detailed, some fossils and all kids of information and facts about the start of the industrial revolution. There are also some old age war memorabilia such as an old musket and some old daggers, very nice visit and the kids also enjoyed it.

Great museum. Lots to learn about iron. Good kids activity finding pictures to keep family engaged. Quite hard to find all so may suit older children or for younger children give the obvious ones when you have spotted them.
