Excellent museum. The staff were all dressed in period costume. The gentlemen operating the looms and the spinning appliances were very informative. The cafe ladies served us tasty cakes and coffee.

A lovely, very interesting museum, with hand weaving looms, a Spinning Jenny, clog makers shop and many Victorian house furnishings. The tearoom is lovely and two of our party enjoyed some delicious Victoria sponge cake. The volunteers were very friendly and knowledgable and help give the museum a lovely atmosphere. Thanks to everyone there today.

We visited today. It was warm and friendly. We saw fresh bread being baked and spinning and weaving being demonstrated. The cafe was lovely with home made cake and china tea cups. All the volunteer staff were friendly and informative. We came away with hand spun and hand woven cloth and freshly made loaves.

Really liked this small local museum. Based on a traditional weavers cottage, it’s well thought out and run by local staff. Split over 3 levels giving a really good insight into cottage industries just at the Dawn of the Industrial Revolution. Very informative staff gave demonstrations on lacework, spinning yarn and weaving cloth, even giving out small samples of cloth made on the premises. There’s a small tearoom selling local homemade cakes etc which was nice too. I can highly recommend a visit here.
