First of it is great something like this has/is/and can be in derby to hopefully show a different business can thrive and grow. I am going to be harsh because I am comparing to the biggest EU arcade (arcade club) in Manchester being a independent company compared to what I (assume) is franchised continue arcades. The Aircon has been mentioned and replied to in other reviews so I won't hash that over again but it was not pleasant. My bigger issue was the lack of spacing, alot of machine were just kind of just next to others not a layout that seemed super thought out. There is many pinch points where you can't play your game without being bumped into or interrupted which free play or not is not what you want on games that can be costly to lapse concentration. Most if not all of the games that can be played by 2+ people had issues/faults or just weren't on at all full stop which takes so much fun out of the arcade experience too. I visited with not too high hopes and even still I was bored/leaving within what was probably a couple hours tops. The consoles were disappointing and again some not even on at all. There is a shuffleboard upstairs which is a great thing to see.. but with no way to reset it and it just being a free for all kids had made a mess of it and there was no way to actually use/play a game on it. I can appreciate things I have mentioned may just be opening issues but also feel there should be thing sin place to quickly rectify issues with games etc.. I won't be back in a hurry but I will plan to visit again sometime to see if this has improved, I would recommended while you want to show/let people see inside that the front windows be blacked out too. The lighting and atmosphere is a huge thing for arcades and those big floor to ceiling windows let way too much light in.. some/most machines don't have enough volume coming out of them as again it seems poorly planned without a balance across the cabs and floor. You have a couple modern stern pinballs also that are not connected to the internet, this is useful for maintaining the machine/updates but also people can connect their accounts and also it will show up on the map for people looking to find a pinball that you have them on location and may attract more custom too. I can not currently give 3 stars as that states good and I feel it was a more noticeable great experience but again I feel I will come back in a few months or so hopefully still thriving and see how it is next time.

From the moment we walked into this retro gaming lounge, our first impression was incredible. The venue looks amazing, and the atmosphere really captures the nostalgic arcade feel. The concept is fantastic too, one entry fee of £13.50 for unlimited time, no gambling, and all the games included is a brilliant idea. Unfortunately, visiting on a Saturday at around 3pm meant it was absolutely packed. While that’s a good sign for the business, it made actually playing the games quite difficult. Because there’s no time limit on machines, some people stayed on the same games for a very long time, meaning we were either waiting 20+ minutes for a turn or constantly walking around trying to find something available. It might be worth considering a suggested time limit during peak periods so everyone gets a chance to play. Another downside was that quite a few machines either weren’t working or were only running in demo mode. This was disappointing, especially when you’re expecting the full arcade experience. It would be helpful if this was mentioned on the website or if out-of-order/demo machines were clearly marked so expectations are managed before visiting. One other negative was the lack of air conditioning. The further into the venue you went, the hotter it became, especially with so many people inside. That said, the staff were upfront about the issue before we entered, which we appreciated, and the refillable slushies definitely helped make it more bearable. Overall, despite the frustrations, we still had a fun time. The venue itself is fantastic, the concept is excellent, and the atmosphere is spot on. If the crowd management, machine maintenance, and temperature issues were improved, this would easily be a five-star experience.

Regardless of the lack of air con which they're going to sort, staff were brilliant, friendly and the place is absolutely fantastic! Me and my boys had the best time there, and for the price was just amazing! I could nerd out on some of the games from when I was younger and kids loved every second, they didn't max out in terms of capacity so made it enjoyable overall. We will be back!

I've always loved gaming and arcades, so when I saw that Derby was finally going to get a big, proper arcade, I can't tell you how excited I was. The guys behind Continue have knocked it out the park with this place. First, the prices. £13.50 for play as long as you like, for every machine including pool, air hockey, shuffleboard, is insane. Considering I'd pay that for 1 game of bowling or mini golf that'd last 20 minutes, it's such good value for money. The food and drink is proper good value too. £3.50 for all you can drink slushies, £2.80 for unlimited popcorn, £1.50 for cans of pop. It's that cheap you don't mind going to the bar regularly. I chomped my way through 2 hot dogs and 3 slushies today on opening 😂 The game selection is top notch for my era, 90s onwards. Such a good range though from the 70s to the 10s. My favourites are lightgun games and there's an unbelievable selection of these. It was such a joy to fully complete Dead storm Pirates and the Simpsons without putting a single coin in the machines! I had some good fun topping the leader board on Outrun 2 if anyone wants to challenge me 😂 Then there's the staff. Stuart and Chris have worked so hard to build something this good for the city of Derby, and they've taken on some really friendly and happy staff to go along with them. Regularly cleaning the machines today, going round checking if everyone is OK and having fun. This is my new favourite place in Derby and I can't wait to spend many an hour on here, especially with my son, who will now be able to appreciate a proper arcade experience!

This was super fun! Had 2 hours before meal reservations and still didn't even have time to play on half of the arcades! There was so much to choose from but managed to have a go on at least the physical bike racing & snowboarding, Time Crisis, MarioKart, Jurassic Park & Avatar pinball, wall-sized Pacman & Space invaders, Sniper AR, Alien & the 4D horror game which definitely made us jump! Plenty to do whether you are 1 or 2 players. It was a particularly hot day and they serve different flavours of frozen cocktails which were a godsend! We had the mojitos and they were delicious and really very cheap. The staff were super friendly and personable, making the whole experience 10x more enjoyable. We had an absolute blast and we can't wait to come back for a full day!
