Wow this was not what I expected definitely need to be able to move around lots of steps up and down to the waterfall but so worth it would definitely go back again parking and portal toilets available and a food truck
Visited here after looking for an accessible walk to do in the summer snd it was mentioned it was wheel chair friendly on the website. Only a very little area of it is flat and actually wheelchair friendly which is the top area by the pond. Area is very shaded I will say but this is not a park, it is a woods. Waterfall was more like a trickle, understandable in the really hot weather we’ve been having, don’t be fooled by photos on here and it was really hard to find. Very badly signposted in regard to directions as you go around, we ended up multiple times lost on off path areas, not that there was much actual paths. There were a handful of informations posts about the history of the mine. Lower car park was tiny and very very overgrown to get to, the car hit bushes and brambles either side. It really needs to be tidied up or closed. Overall area was very overgrown and not very well looked after. Wouldn’t personally recommend.
We visited Craig Gwladys Country Park on the 12th June 2026 after googling places to go with waterfalls while holidaying from Kent. I have to say, the photo’s on google are very misleading. We couldn’t find the waterfalls we were looking for, but thankfully a lovely lady and gentleman who work there were able to help. The pictures I showed them that state ‘Craig Gwladys’ were not actually at the park. This was so misleading as we had travelled over an hour with the dogs and were prepared to do a walk in the rain on the hope of seeing this beautiful waterfall which wasn’t actually there. Very basic walk and not worth the distance travelled. Unfortunately!
This was a lovely outdoor area to walk around. A map to show you the different walks you can do. Small car park. Bottom car park didn't even look like a car park though so we parked at the top one. We decided to take the family route as we have a 4 year old and baby. Started off fine but quickly became not pram friendly. Although we did percivier. My daughter loved her ved finding the fairy doors and we stopped at the waterfall for our picnic. How we managed the steep climb to remain on the route then though is insane. We had to take the baby out of the pram and all the bags and carry them up so we could carry the pram up. This is why I have given it 4 stars. Family route is definitely misleading. We would go again but next time I would take the carrier for the baby not the pram and would not recommend if your a wheelchair user at all.
Beautiful ❤️ Stunning country park with beautiful walks. 3 car parks, top, middle, bottom. Toilet facilities available but needs a sink, it's a good old fashioned toilet with sawdust! Bring hand sanitiser! Lovely picnic areas.
