A little detour on my walk today as it was such a nice day. This isn't a long walk around the park but it's great if you just want to get out in the fresh air. And there's a cafe too on site which I haven't tried yet but heard great reports about.

I visited Creggan country park at the beginning of February on a cold overcast day. The place was very quiet with a few people walking their dogs around the middle lake. There's plenty of parking beside the main building and information boards at the carpark and around the lake. It's possible to walk around most of the lake at the moment, but there's a gate locked at the final bit which means returning the way you came. The path is tarmaced, but a little muddy. I enjoyed listening to the birds as I did a 45 minute walk around the lake and back. It would be a lovely place to visit in the spring or summertime and is a good place for walking, fishing and water sports. There's a cafe in the main building, but not fully operational during covid restrictions.

Had a great couple of hours here kayaking, floats and jumping off pier. Instructor very professional and brilliant with the children. Great way to spend a few hours and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back.
