brilliant gem of a place this, pay £10 for entry/car park to 9 different car parks and locations within the forest. car park 1 has a small park a walk, 2nd car park has a maze and views, basically each car park has something for the kids and a walk some large, some small. We went around everything in about 3 or so hours, you could do it quickly or spend all day and have a bbq or picnic on the designated bbq benches. would highly recommend this place, amazing views, loads of wildlife and green, plus a view over the channel, a massive mountain to climb if you fancy also a lake. lived half hr drive away and took me until 38 to discover this place!

Cwmcarn forest is a great place for family walk, there's some trails that are accessible for people with pushchairs or wheelchair users, the views are fantastic wherever you are. There is a large lake with trail around it, the water is amazingly clear. Lot's of benches dotted around, and some seating area with grilling space build in, all you have to do is bring your own wood and food and you can have a barbecue out in the open. There is a cafe next to the main carpark, also toilets on site. Through the walk, there's several playgrounds to keep the kids occupied. For those that are in the area, I would also recommend Cwmcarn forest drive- you need to pay upon entry but it's the one way drive with several stops and each offers something different to see or do, this really is well worth the money. If you are looking for a free past time then just the Cwmcarn forest is more than enough to keep you entertained. Parking is not free though.

Went Saturday morning, two sites were closed so they only charged £7 instead of the usual £10 per car. It got busier in the afternoon. Took 2hrs in total at the site for the scenic drive, time at the lake and photos. Staff were friendly, toilet facilities were well maintained and overall had a 10/10 experience with the family. One small niggle is that parking lot near the lake is so tiny and pay machine there only takes coins which are both inconvenient. But would go again with friends if opportunity arises!

Great way to get you and kids out of the house! Plenty to see and do and amazing value for £10 a car.

Lovely place for a walk, we have only done Nantcarn Walk as we had a pram with us but it was definitely worth it. There is a visitor centre by the car park where you can grab a hot drink and something to eat. Carpark is £3 for all day which is a really good price. We will definitely be back again to explore the area more
