Lovely experience very nice close to nature place very calming and friendly There were volunteers who were so lovely they took us on a nice walk around the area and told a lot of about tge history of that place which was amazing There were lots of fun activities for kids and tgey loved it

We spent 6h here happily as a family with kids from 5-11 and a dog. Everyone was happy and entertained all day. The parking was £6 and well worth every penny as the only cost. There's a wicked play park, loads of toys out to use including tennis kits, beanbag toss, hoops etc. There's 2 wonderful forest walks set up specifically for kids to explore and play (but dogs aren't allowed in one), which also includes a river bridge and installations like a giant dragon. The centre itself has a lovely cafe, museum, art gallery and indoor play area too.

We absolutely love it here! Definitely a favourite place of ours to visit. As a mum of 5 this has things for all ages so it’s perfect for the whole family!

We've visited here a few times and my little one loves it! There's the art gallery and exhibition in the centre with a small gift shop which hosts some local creations. The outdoor play area is great for children to burn off some energy with picnic benches if you wanted to take some lunch, alternatively the centre has a cafe. There is also a small woodland walk which had some fairy houses and bird hides. Most of this accessible ground. The centre often runs events so worth checking their site, our most recent visit was to take the children on Santa's missing list trail.

Absolutely loved this place. It's small but is just perfectly done. Very nice tea room and helpful and friendly staff. Beautifully kept grounds just so very peaceful. I was very impressed the attention to detail they have gone to here: The routes very very clearly marked and have information posts regularly as well as educational information for kids. It seems to be a popular place for school trips too - with a really nice playground and we saw a couple of groups of kids on a trip there clearly having a great time. Would have loved a trip here when I was a kid! Toilets were well kept - and even had baby changing facilities in both ladies and gents toilets which sadly is still not common even today! We were told they are planning to extend some of the walks and routes for Tramper hire - and that would be great. It is currently a short route but despite that we had a great time and will definately have it on our list to revisit when we are up this way again.
