At low tide, numerous rockpools are exposed, providing excellent opportunities for children to discover marine wildlife and explore the natural ecosystem. Beyond the beach itself, visitors can enjoy woodland trails leading from the car park, where there is a genuine chance of spotting squirrels and occasionally deer. These peaceful pathways through the trees add an extra dimension to a visit, particularly appealing to families with children who enjoy nature exploration. The beach benefits from excellent water quality and is recognized by the Marine Conservation Society. Nice way to spend a couple of hours pay and display car park with cafe and toilets. Various walks through woodlands or down to the beach

Ankle breakingly beautiful beach, worth a rolled ankle or two. Mediterranean vibes, clear warm water. We arrived at high tide and there was no sand at all, we were there for several hours and there was no sand when we left either. This beach is not fit for the physically disabled, unsteady on their feet, pushchairs, wheelchairs etc. It’s really hard work as an unfit thirty something able bodied person to get 20 foot down the beach. There is a handy shop, and toilets at in the car park but keep an eye on closing times as the toilets shut at the same time.

Beautiful. Very rocky, coastal path very steep and not for anyone with a pram or impartially mobile. Danes Dyke trail walk alot more forgiving. Very rocky beach but spectacular.

One of my favourite beaches. We’ve been coming here since I was a baby. The beach is rocky closer to the land, then gets sandier as the tide goes out. It’s very tide dependent. So definitely check tide times for safety. There’s a car park then a grass overflow car park at the top with a shop and toilets. Parking costs are reasonable. I believe it’s dog friendly. Access to the beach is down a fairly steep hill. Partially tarmacked but often muddy. Doable for toddlers and older people but tricky. We’ve done it with a pram and a wheelchair. The pram is okay, the wheelchair was tricky and four of us had to carry our grandma across the steep section and rocky part to the beach. No advisable. The beach is clean and wide and beautiful and at low tide you can walk for miles, exploring the cliffs and sand. It’s always beautiful even in winter and I’ve heard the walk to Flamborough is lovely.

We visited midweek in January on a cold cloudy day. We had the beach to ourselves. It is beautiful. The beach is just large chalk pebbles at high tide and a couple of hours either side. There is sand when the tide goes out. Good toilet facilities at the car park. Fairly steep walk down to the beach from the car park.
