Visit websiteAbsolutely must see hidden gem, literally 3 mins off junction 22 M25. Aircraft, history, experiences, cafe, gift shop, great layout, kiddies play area. Totally reccomend, you could lose yourself here for several hours!
Don't expect Hendon. Rough and ready but 3 Mosquitos! Vampire, Venom and Sea Vixen. Chipmunk. Dragon Rapide. Green Comet racer and Comet passenger jet to walk through and be amazed at how compact. I enjoyed the stop off on the way to St Albans.
I was traveling on the outskirts of London and I love a good museum, but especially an aviation or military museum. This delivers both aspects. I received a great history lesson as well as a wonderful demonstration of the internal combustion engine operation. The staff is absolutely wonderful here. I am always impressed with British museums and this one does not disappoint! I highly recommend it especially for those who want to pass on some knowledge to the youth.
A lovely museum with lots of interactive exhibits. The volunteers were very friendly and helpful. Though I'm not an aircraft enthusiast, my 11 year old son is and he thoroughly enjoyed it and we spent 2 hours there. There's a a small cafe and reasonably priced gift shop.
The museum has a welcoming atmosphere and feels very authentic. It’s not overly crowded, which makes it easy to take your time exploring the hangars and reading the displays. There’s also a small café and shop which add to the experience. Just be aware that it can get quite cold inside.
