The playground area and equipment was very well maintained. There was a good variety of slides, swings and climbing frames for all age groups. I am in the parks and playgrounds a lot with my Grandson and I would consider this one the best of all of them. I thought we would be there for an hour or so but stayed the whole of the afternoon.

Great place for a walk with views of Strangford Lough and also across to the Mournes. Good hard paths and easy to access and walk. £5 entrance fee, but well worth it for access to the park.

Visit 27/12/2025 to Delamont Country Park, ok amount of parking spaces at location. Great place to bring families including young children with play area and miniature railway and groups to visit. There is accessible pathways around the area, although do be careful around grey point viewing area if walking onto the beach stones and seaweed area as is slippy and for those not steady on feet will need accompanying. Recommend a visit if in the area ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Delamont Country Park is a council managed Park just a few minutes drive from Downpatrick and just off the shores of Strangford Lough. There is a cost of 5 pounds per car which I thought was very reasonable. There are a number of amenities and different paths to walk. I personally loved the mix of different environments: beach; grassland; forest, it really has a lot to offer! The paths are well maintained and a walk here can be as long or as quick as you need it to be. For children there is a play park and even a train which does a loop through part of the park. There is also a cafe which sells some baked goods, ice cream and coffees. Overall I enjoyed my visit and would definitely advise others to come and check it out 😊
