The park itself is nice but it is known for inappropriate meetings (do a search and you will know what I mean). I had no idea and a man stopped me on my walk to say this and warn me and then a bunch of awkward encounters that i've had in this park suddenly made sense. (I won't go into detail)

Great outdoor space for a walk. Car park is free accommodating up to 10 cars. The walk around the lake is more off the beaten track whilst the paved path is more suitable if you don't want to venture into nature. Lovely spots to watch the birds from viewpoints. Great scenery. It was hard to know at first where to start the walk, but for the paved pathway, go back on the road and follow the trans penine walk signs. II would recommend it.

Absolutely gorgeous walk with the pupper! Nice even paths, a couple of decent inclines (breathing hard after one) and wide enough for passing of both humans and bikes. Only reduced the mark to 4 as the potholes in the carpark are big enough to hit the underside of a Civic so beware!

Only given 3 stars because this nature reserve needs a bit of tlc. Its a nice walk around the area but the fly tipping on path next to road is quite bad. Maybe it's just this time of year and it'd my first time visiting. The car park is free but gets busy. I did get a couple of nice pictures.

Worth a visit if you're local. I'm a casual walker not bird warcher. Easy walk around the water for moderlty fit people. Some slopes and mud so wear appropriate footwear. We extended the walk by stepping over a low fence at the far side from the car park and walked around a field that was next to pastures lane.
