Dinky Town

Lowestoft, United Kingdom•4.5(28)•Play Café, Soft Play Center

Explore a mini world of role-play adventures with themed zones like supermarkets, doctors surgeries, and fire stations, plus jungle soft play, all for ages 1-7.

Dinky Town is an indoor play venue designed for little explorers aged 1 to around 7 years old, featuring an imaginative array of themed role-play zones where children can dress up, role play, and spark endless adventures. The venue includes attractions such as a supermarket with mini mart checkout, jungle vets with cuddly animals, Dinky's Diner for pretend cooking, a doctors surgery, theatre for singing and dancing, fire station, construction zone, and a cosy home setting. A dedicated non-walkers area ensures even the tiniest visitors can participate in age-appropriate play. Beyond the role-play areas, children can enjoy jungle-themed soft play with slides, tunnels, and climbing activities designed to develop physical skills through exploration. Learning through play is central to the venue's philosophy, allowing children to develop social, creative, and developmental skills while having fun. While children play, caregivers can relax in the open-plan onsite café with hot drinks, light lunches, and tasty treats while maintaining close supervision. Older siblings are welcome to join in, often rediscovering the joy of imaginative play. Dinky Town also offers party packages and groups bookings, plus Jungle Cuts, a unique themed children's hair salon located onsite where haircuts take place in a car-themed setting with TV entertainment.

Didn't get chance to let my grandchildren play in this establishment due to a private party being held but with NO NOTICE of the place being closed to outsiders. Before I went I checked their website for prices, ages, and most importantly whether I needed to pre-book and the website distinctly advertised that pre-booking was not needed, nothing about it being closed for a private party NOTHING, so a great big THANK YOU to the owners of this place for making 2 young children cry. I noticed it was busy and guessed there was a party but there was nothing to say we couldn't enter so we got through the doors, parked the buggy, children's coats were off, they started to play then I am told by a nice lady that it was closed due to a private party, I explained that I had checked the web site etc but all she could do was apologize and it was only at that moment that a sign was put on the door stating closed due to private party. I won't be taking my grandchildren back, if this is how you treat customers I won't be giving you my money, it is disgraceful that you think upsetting a 2year old is ok, in my book it isn't. Maybe you should think of making your future customers aware that it is closed before any more children are reduced to tears

We joined a SEN session this afternoon, it was refreshing to see a SEN session at a reasonable time of the day! Each family had a designated table which was a lovely touch and great to have a ‘base’ to head back to for drinks etc. The staff were lovely and really friendly, the hot chocolate and panini were also lovely and reasonably priced. The numbers were limited which made the session ideal and not overcrowded at all. We didn’t make it into the sensory room this time but maybe next time we come! Lots of different zones to explore and the soft play area was also a big hit! Thank you for a lovely session ☺️

Visited Dinky Town yesterday with my three year old grandson and he really enjoyed it. I hadn’t been for a while but received the same lovely warm welcome from Katie and her mother that I remember from before. Hugo loved his milk and cookies and me my tea, but because of the time of day we didn’t eat more, I observed there was the option to, with a variety of food on offer. The toilet is spotless which I think is very important in a busy play area and the toys and surroundings are kept really well. Looking forward to seeing you again. Thank you for a brilliant time.
