Dry Sandford Pit is a fascinating and peaceful nature reserve, with dramatic limestone cliffs, clear pools and a mix of wildlife that makes the whole area feel surprisingly wild for such a small site. The short trails are easy and enjoyable, with plenty of spots to stop and take in the geology and the calm atmosphere. It’s a great place for a quiet walk, birdwatching or simply exploring a unique landscape shaped by its quarrying past. A lovely stop for families, nature lovers and anyone who enjoys compact reserves with interesting features and plenty of character.

Not very big so short refreshing walk, not suitable for prams/wheelchairs though. Not busy, a good dog walk if you don't want to meet other dogs. There is a warning Not to let your dogs in the water. Keep dogs on a lead notice.

Came here briefly whilst geocaching and I’m glad I did. The second coral reef I’ve visited in Oxfordshire and neither have got me wet. Great spot to spend some moment with nature. Whilst I was there I did hear near constant car noises though, not sure why.

Peaceful beautiful setting. It's full Summer Wild Flowers, marjoram, self heal and others. Heard the familiar Green Woodpecker. Butterflies enjoying the necter. Ideal place to quietly walk with the dog. Ample parking although car park is small. Worth a visit.
