Lovely little railway beside a beautiful lake full of wildlife. Free parking. Train ride is a bit underwhelming but the setting is gorgeous. Well worth a visit.

Great family experience. Friendly staff and a lovely picnic area with a great children’s play area. The miniature railway even has little first class carriages. A must for little ones who love trains!

It was my first steam train ride. I loved it, my husband and our dog - not as much... Not a long trip, but allows to enjoy nature with many green land around and some wildlife. Great attraction for families and kids. All staff very friendly.

Visited the park and the cafe. The cafe was great. Food is inexpensive ans good quality. I was on a large mobility scooter and they went out of their way to accommodate me. Went to look at the trains after. All the children there were loving it. For a family it is a great day out.

Lovely place to visit with children of all ages or with rail enthusiasts. There is lots of parking available and accessible parking too. The station kiosk is kind of tight when busy to get passed people with buggies or wheelchairs but can be carefully negotiated. Lots of different miniature trains to view and of course one or two to take a ride on! The ride is about 5-10 mins long and goes to a public park at the other station where you can alight to play there or crossover the small track and have a picnic or even take a walk around the 3 large fishing lakes they have there. It's a great little day out. The waters edges are clear but recommend full supervision of children near the lakes and tracks. Feed the ducks and geese taking care to watch they don't surround you if you have little ones. Hopping on the train back to the station will take you through a LONG and very DARK tunnel. Recommend little ones (or anyone that might get anxious) sits by an adult. You can see the light at the end of the tunnel but it is quite a long time before you get there (for little ones anyway). There is a shop where you can buy tickets, icecreams, sweets, crisps and some memorabilia and a small cafe. The cafe has a small menu, select sandwiches, crisps, cakes, fruit, biscuits, raisins (that I saw) and a selection of hot and cold drinks too. You cannot sit anywhere in the cafe, or on the benches outside the station with your own food. You can sit on the benches on the platform or walk round to the lake and find a picnic spot. There are toilets at the station but both times Ive been this week the baby changer was locked and unaccessible.
