Become a Family MemberI saw a lot of castles in my visit to the UK, but Edinburgh Castle in Scotland was by far one of my favorites. It was also impressively accessable, with plenty of ramps and benches. Aside from containing several small museums of its own, it's the home of the oldest church in Edinburgh, and it also gives you some of the best views of the city and harbor. Several of the upper walls have plaques with guides to help you identify landmarks. The museums include the Scottish Crown Jewels (the oldest surviving regalia in the UK) the War Memorial, and the Scottish War Museum. The War Museum does a fantastic job delving into how war has shaped Scotland, it's people, and continues to employ its men and women for combat. The cafe was also quite nice and the side dining area has a couple of windows that give you even better views of the surrounding city. If your only in Edinburgh for a few days, it's definitely worth going. You'll also get to walk a bit of the Royal Mile which is steeped in history, too.
An absolutely breathtaking place. Edinburgh Castle is rich in history, culture, and stunning views over the city. Walking through the castle truly feels like stepping back in time. Every corner tells a story, and the atmosphere is powerful and unforgettable. A must-visit landmark in Edinburgh that leaves you in awe. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the city ⛔️Tickets are booked online in advance, making the experience smooth, well-organized, and hassle-free
The ticket is quite pricy same as other's reviews, however they provide a lots of museum and stuff inside. The walk path is quite a bit confused. I walked all of their section for around 2 hour (without reading too much information in the museum. If youre the intentive type on historical information, spare more time). Overall I enjoyed this castle.
Full of stories. I was impressed by the crown and the sceptre, magnificent. I like how they have the genealogy of the Stuart family. I am an enthusiast of Mary Queen of Scots since I was young so going to this castle was a dream of mine. Everything was magical. I liked the museums as well it was very interesting to learn more about the Scottish history 😀
Bought tickets for the self guided tour and bought the guidebook. What a great experience for the whole family. Amazing views from the castles walls. There is a cafe in the castle with amazing food and a great space for dinning with a view! Next time I will have a tour guide take us through and get the full experience.
