Stayed on the touring park this weekend. Absoloutly beautiful location. Well established campsite in a quiet corner of this beautiful park. I think the pitches were all grass, it was dry this weekend so that was fine, there certainly wasn't any evidence that it gets wet (no muddy ruts) so it must be well drained. Its council run so doesnt have that personal touch. However it was clean and well organised. The booking system is a little odd in that you have to phone the council offices to make the booking, the call handler told me it was (probably) a hardstanding pitch (i got the impression he didnt know the park at all). But hey the system works and it is a lovely site. Toilets a little dated but clean and working and with indoor washing up sinks. What really makes this site is its location within this beautiful dare i say "romantic" country park weeping willows, lakeside walks of an evening and yet park runs and childrens playground at other times...well worth a visit if you like nature. Busier and noisier at the weekend (as you would expect) I arrived Thursday and had a whole section to myself...bliss. My dog certainly couldn't believe the number of rabbits! I will definitely go back and therefore highly recommend.
Emberton Park is a fantastic choice for families. There is an activity area and a playground, and children can enjoy cycling, riding scooters, and plenty of outdoor play. If you bring a gazebo, it’s also a lovely spot for a picnic. The café is great, with a wide range of food and drink options, including lunch boxes for children. Although, when it gets busy, there can be a wait for hot food. The staff are always lovely and friendly. Children can also feed the ducks at the lake. We usually spend around 4–5 hours there, and there is always plenty to keep everyone entertained.
Great place to take a break. Plenty of areas to explore, we walked around the main lakes and had refreshments in the cafe. Definitely will return, great day for getting together with family-no BBQs but bring shelter and picnic and enjoy a peaceful day!
A really lovely park , disabled parking and toilets right next to the cafe .Lots of play areas for children and a great place to walk , or excercise .Perfect for all ages, beautifully maintained 👌
The parking fee is £5.50 payable at the entrance next to a manned barrier. Decent parking spaces and there is a small coffee shop and toilets right next to it and a small outside gym. The first children's playground is opposite the coffee shop. There is a sandpit there and a nice climbing frame. And benches for picnics. The second one is further down the road on the left side. It has more climbing frames, swings, slides.. and benches to sit on. On the right side there is plenty of space for a picnic, a few benches overlooking the lake. And this is as far as we got. There is still a lot more to see and I can't wait to visit again. The weather has been amazing (we were really lucky) and it felt so peaceful here.
