Great place to visit. Lots to see - and a very interesting history of the place. Lots of small architectural things to notice all over. Definitely a place worth while visiting.

Fabulous visit to Lindisfarne. Plenty to see including the castle and monastery. Lovely local shops and tea rooms. Take a walk on the cliffs to see the seals on the rocks. We didnt manage to see any but I have in a previous visit. Car parking is easy 2 car parks charging £7 for 3 hours. Disabled is free. Bring your good walking shoes!!!

Holy Island is a beautiful island, albeit very busy and touritsty - inevitable with its history and cultural meaning to many. Travelling over the causeway is fun and parking was easy. We walked through the village to Lindisfare Abbey, it was really interesting to hear about its history and all the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. The Abbey is beautiful and peaceful, whilst the views towards the castle were stunning. It's well worth a visit even with all the visitors (including myself!)

English Heritage maintains this site and runs a small museum and shop with a ticket kiosk. The ruins are well worth a visit if you’re interested in this aspect of history and the grounds are quite large for this sort of building. The museum is small but tastefully displays finds from the regular digs on the site. The shop is well stocked with interesting cards, magnets, tapestries, etc and children will love the selection of wooden weapons including swords and crossbows.

The place is quite big once you get inside. There are staff on hand to give information and talk too. Some great views of the castle. There were a few little games to complete for the kids. Lots of information boards really bring the place to life. There are no toilets these are back in the coach car park.
