Amazing! So much to see and learn in this historic house. The staff was very nice and told me so many amazing stories about Erasmus Darwin and his home. This was a top highlight of my trip.

We visited on Easter Monday and were immediately charmed by the beauty of the garden and warm welcome of the staff. Lots of informative and engaging displays throughout the museum. I was particularly taken by the 18th-century dress-up (as is my weakness…) and it was lovely to see that the growing collection of the library has been made available to researchers. Local talks and events are advertised in the gift shop. Recommend a trip— the House is located opposite Lichfield Cathedral so you can easily visit one after the other as we did!

A very interesting little museum to visit, Staff are friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. There are public toilets. A really nice herb garden. Lots of information regarding Eramus Darwins life, he was an amazingly clever man, ahead of his time. There us £5 entrance fee, we'll worth it

This is a fascinating museum that tells the story of Erasmus Darwin and the Lunar Society of scientists and inventors. The museum is well presented, with video and audio clips as well as hands-on models to demonstrate the inventions. Outside, there is an apothecary’s garden with medicinal herbs.
