It was fantastic thank you kids had loads to do they did not want to come away loved every minute of it .

Enjoyed more than expected! Niche little museum with historic fire engines and a fire safety room with helpful demonstrations for children. Largely outdoors and open to the elements. Staff were great and my 4 year old loved trying out the fire hose!! 90 mins well spent.

We attended the Christmas open day at the Essex Fire Museum and it was a wonderful experience. The kids absolutely loved it — there was so much for them to see and do, and everything was very well organised. The festive atmosphere was lovely and made the day feel really special. Santa’s visit was a real highlight and brought big smiles to the children’s faces, making the whole experience even more magical. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and great with the kids throughout the day. Overall, it was a fantastic family outing and a perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit. We would definitely recommend it and would love to visit again. 🎄🚒

I visited the Museum on its Family Open Day, on Sunday 27/07/2025. It was fairly busy with lots of children, I only saw it advertised the day before. There were many items on display, ranging from badges to fire engines. The volunteers were both friendly and knowledgeable. I spent an hour there, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Check online for days when it is open.

Very nice museum, is small but has a lot of items inside, we have been very lucky and get the gide, what tell us a lot of cool stories, also explain about the stuff inside. This place is really worth visiting. Don't forget to book your visit via email.
