Surprisingly large museum with enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers.

Really good little museum with lots of interesting items in it. It £2.50 per person to get in. The staff were very friendly and full of local facts and stories.

I came back to visit Exmouth, having lived here as a child with my family in the late 60's. The museum was interesting - they need a larger facility for their displays and are trying to raise more funds. The volunteers were helpful and very passionate about the town and the information.

One of the volunteers spent ten minutes giving an historical overview to just my wife and I which really brought the displays alive. We learned about some of the famous local characters including Ann (Nancy) Perriam (1769-1865) known as a "powder monkey", Viscountess Frances Herbert Nelson (1762 - 1831), Baroness Anna Isabella Byron (1792 - 1860) and Mary Anne Clarke (1776 - 1852). Well worth visiting!
