Experience hands-on falconry with trained birds of prey in Northumberland, offering interactive experience days, school visits, and educational shows.

Falconry Days is a professional falconry business and activity centre in Northumberland, home to around 70 trained and working birds of prey. Unlike traditional zoos, this venue operates as a working falconry establishment where birds are actively flown and managed, both on-site and at external events, schools, and shows. Visitors can participate in immersive experience days that allow them to interact directly with these magnificent raptors under expert guidance. The centre offers various engagement options tailored to different groups and interests. Families can book experience days to handle and fly birds of prey, while schools benefit from educational visits designed to improve public understanding of native species and bird conservation. The venue also hosts special shows and events throughout the year. Photography enthusiasts can book dedicated photography days to capture stunning images. Falconry Days prioritises bird welfare above all else. The centre rescues and rehabilitates injured wild birds, attempting to reintroduce them to the wild, and has installed bird boxes for both raptors and songbirds to enhance the educational value of visits. Rather than selling birds, all residents become permanent family members cared for throughout their lifetimes. Visitors can even adopt birds to support the centre's conservation work. Located at Lady Hill Farm near Hexham, this award-winning attraction is ranked as Northumberland's top visitor attraction on TripAdvisor and has received multiple tourism and experience awards.

We booked a photograph experience with four people. Also there were two other groups. We learned al lot about falconry and the birds that were at the farm. In addition to the informative explanation, we were overwhelmed by the love they showed for their animals, as well as the passion for their profession. A visit to Falconry Days is an experience in a class of its own. We recommend anyone with a love for birds and nature to book a visit.

My dear friend treated me to a raptor experience last week and I can honestly say it was fabulous! We first got to wander round and meet all the birds (and they have a lot) before spending a good couple of hours handling 3 of their amazing residents. Mandy was our host and she was so warm and friendly. She told us so much about each bird. It was so interesting! We could tell she is absolutely passionate about the birds in her care. The centre itself is set in the middle of the most beautiful countryside and all their birds look healthy and well cared for. Honestly if you are into birds this is an absolute must!

Excellent day, booked the half day falconry experience. Sophie was very knowledgeable and helpful. Would definitely book up again. The dogs were amazing and very well behaved.

Excellent experience as it's thoughtful, informative and not time pressured, so our small family group was given every encouragement to interact with the staff and then learn more when flying the birds. Very calming, very intriguing and we admired the dedication of the team there to their guardianship of the birds.

What an amazing birthday present, my first visit to Falconry Days. It was an experience I won't forget. It's a peaceful place with beautiful views, it was easy to feel at one with nature there. The birds were content and well looked after. Mark and his team clearly loved what they do and you could see the bond between them. They were also very knowledgeable and had some interesting stories to tell. We were all made to feel very welcome. I handled the birds and took some photographs. An all round perfect day.
