Lovely for sheltered walks in a heatwave! River Taff can be quite fast flowing but under the weir it's quite shallow so a big dog can swim safely as they can get purchase on the river bottom.
Good location, free parking, dog friendly👍
Fantastic great for all ages and lots of animals. Highly recommended
Lovely , great walk along canal cans area , couple of hides one seat broken though , listening to regulars been like it for a while plenty of birds , tits and robins eat out of hand buzzards kingfishers etc rats foxes and squirrels , lovely area pretty clean also .
The place to go if you want to get photos of kingfishers. You might get lucky and see one quickly, you might have to wait many hours, but generally if you're patient you will be rewarded. The first hide is best as the perches are a lot closer. Nice walks around the area as well, with beautiful colours along the old canal and you can loop around to the river Taff. Plenty of other wildlife around and kids will enjoy the hides when the rabbits and squirrels turn up.
