What a lovely place! A hidden gem. Visited with the grandkids for the Summer Activity Day. So peaceful and relaxed and all staff were so welcoming and kind. Lots of nature based activities & interest; pond dipping and crafts. We had a lovely time. A super day out. Thank-you. A note to help. It says 10 till 3 but it's a rolling programme, not a formal full day. Activities roll through the day; you don't have to be there for 10 on the dot! Also it's a fair walk for little ones from car park to the field centre so allow a good 15 to 20mins to arrive chilled.

The Army Barracks gave me a new postcode for the centre. It took me to the Army Houses. Both the Barracks Check Point and the chap at housing said they have so many people getting lost. I couldnt see any signs for the place so must be well hidden. Its a shame but after 2 hours I gave up. My signal was bad so that didn't help. But we saw a bit more of beautiful countryside x

Once we had found Foxglove Covert we were really surprise at how lovely it was on the walk round , and next to an army base aswell , well done all involved. Very peaceful , dogs loved it .

This is such a beautiful place. An absolute hidden treasure. The field centre had a wealth of information and you can purchase snacks and water. Parking £3, maps £1 and came in very handy for not getting lost. There are 3 different trails that you can choose from, a short, medium and long. We chose the medium trial but will definitely be back to do the long trail. This is a must visit especially if you have young children.

Very unusual Reserve. To get there you have to be prepared to show your ID (you can pretend you are going abroad 🙂) Fantastic place for walks. You can choose one trail or go for all of them depending on you. It's worth paying £1 for a leaflet with map of the site. Lots of birds, insects and plants. I liked looking for mushrooms carved in remnants of trees. Dogs on leads, children supervised and peace of mind guaranteed. Take your time and make most of the reserve. Ticket for parking for whole day is £4. Definitely worth paying! Not many parking spaces so not overcrowded. Just perfect!
