WoW How Absolutely Amazing are the Foxton Locks!! Being from Australia we were very interested in trying to see some 'Narrow Boats' and our friend who lives in Leicestershire not only showed us narrow boats but brought us to Foxton Locks!! We were So Amazed at Everything..... We really could have spent hours and hours there instead of just hours!! We walked right to the top with the Amazing volunteers happy to speak tobus and explain the work they were doing. Many of the boat owners were happy to speak to us as well even tho they were working hard to bring their boats either up or down the Locks. At the top the Best treat awaited. Young Hayley running the little cafe at the top was FanTasTic. Doing a Wonderful job and happy to chat as she worked .... she was serving Great food (we had tasty burgers 🍔) wonderful coffee and Yummy ice cream. Five stars also for her Outstanding service and Happy nature. Thank you.

Ok place for a visit if you are looking for a nice walk and a pub. A good amount of car parking but I would imagine it could get crowded on a sunny day. Parking was minimum £3.50 for 2 hours

Fascinating flight of locks with great Victorian engineering to marvel at Knowledgeable volunteers give great advice and information on the site. Fun to watch the narrow boats working their way through the 10 locks. A little outdoor seating area with drinks at the top lock and two pubs below at the bottom.

This is a perfect weekend getaway for families to soak up the sun. Along the riverbank, many boats sell various goods, such as handicrafts, drinks, and aromatherapy products – all very unique. The scenery is beautiful, making it ideal for strolling with your pet. Walking along the riverside village and crossing the bridge, you'll reach the most famous water gate. Boats constantly pass through here, and you can even participate in opening the gate yourself. At the bottom of the gate, there are several restaurants where you can enjoy the sunshine and a relaxing weekend. Raise a glass, enjoy a refreshing beer and a hamburger, and admire the lakeside scenery – a truly relaxing experience.

Went here whilst visiting the area on a weekend break. Absolutely lovely, a beautiful sunny day in mid March...yes it was cold but was very busy with people/ families and dog walkers. We stopped at the "Lock Keeper's" cafe for "half time" refreshments very nice coffee and cakes. I can imagine that at the height of summer at a weekend it must be busy busy busy.
