Freedom Fields is one of Plymouth's most cherished historic parks, located close to the Greenbank and Lipson areas, just a 15-minute walk from the city centre. Restored in 2000 and awarded a prestigious Green Flag Award, the park offers some of the best panoramic views in Plymouth, looking out across Plymouth Sound and beyond. The park is open 24 hours a day and completely free to visit, making it an accessible destination for families year-round. The park features excellent facilities for families with young children, including a well-equipped playground with sand play, climbing frames, ball courts, tyre swings, and roundabouts. A multi-use games area on tarmac provides space for active play, while an on-site café offers refreshments. The park's design is highly accessible, with all paths being flat tarmac suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs, with both east and west entrances providing pram and wheelchair-friendly access. To the west of the park, visitors can discover a beautiful wildflower meadow featuring bluebells, snowdrops, and wild daffodils, creating a peaceful natural space. Went to the Freedom Festival for a few hours, the sun was blazing and l had a very good afternoon lidtening to some good local bands. Loads of stalls to wander around it had a good vibe.

Great festivial , well organised , and patrolled by staff , felt very safe and also. Charges for items where not through the roof 🙄

Lovely place for a casual stroll, especially good for pooches. Lots to smell! Sadly, the toilets were closed when I visited, which wasn't very helpful.

Freedom fields park is a wonderful park in the middle of a dense residential area. It’s a wonderful place to take the kids, a dog or have a nice walk and view of the sea. It is always clean and safe. I rent a place every year near this park to see family and take my kids to it regularly. It’s neat to see them make friends with the school kids when they get out of school. It becomes a very lively park! There are some times festivals and large events that happen here as well.

I really love this park. It's not too big yet perfect for evening walks. You meet lovely dogs and owners here. There are few benches to sit down too. Children can play in the playground or run around on the grass. There is a view towards the sea on the horizon which is visible during the warmer months.
