Great shop and staff. Plenty of tcgs such as yugioh pokemon vanguard mtg. Prices are very good too. Staff are very welcoming and kind.

When I first entered this store it was not what I was expecting I thought they mainly sold games and gaming merchandise. When we went downstairs into the actual shop there were a few people sat on sofas and a few playing games like Warhammer on a table!!!! There was a few bits of gaming merchandise that they sold and it looked good quality and reasonably priced they also had a coffee shop in here which was unexpected!!!! So overall this would be a good hangout place if you like to play board games like warhammer and listening to music.

Its a nice shop, friendly staff and plenty of space, it feels safe and welcoming. Certain groups in the shop however, have an elitist attitude towards new players. Really off-putting. I've heard snide comments more than once directed at myself and others and it really puts down the chilled vibe the shop tries to go for. I just want to play card games, not made to feel bad because a few bad apples can't keep their mouth shut. Very disappointing, I understand the staff can't do anything about this but its a shame because I feel like quitting.

I visited geek retreat Cardiff for the first time this week and was humbled by the expierence that I recieved. I have been to a few geel retreats and wouldn't say the expierence I've recieved is anything like Cardiff's. The atmosphere even before walking in was calm, refreshing and made me feel comfortable (for someone who is on the spectrum I really appreciated this). Staff were absolutely excellent friendly and extremely welcoming, I had 2 lovely chats with staff (and one with a local I believe). The store was spotless, well laid out, perfect accessibility for disabled customers, many chill out areas if a customer needed some alone time (as I can see this store being very busy in the evenings). The amount of nostalgia I felt being in the store was how I remember 'geeky' stores being as a kid. I had a lovely quick game of lorcana before heading to a trial shift and it the exact feeling I needed to go smash said trial shift. For someone who travelled to Bristol to Cardiff for the day, I can humbly say I'll be visitng Cardiff just for this store, and events at the store in the future. P.S, the food was priced at a affordable amount and was beautiful too!

It is really chilled place. I want to Geek Retreat the other day with 2 of my friends and it was quite there on that day. But all in all, is cool place to hang out, you can play board games, video games, talking to people based on there hobbies and the drinks including the coffees & milkshakes (despite I haven’t tried it) sounds nice too. Also there’s different events every week and staff members are lovely too. So if you want to place that more on the Geek culture and have events you don’t see everyday and hang out with friends….Geek Retreat.
