We’ve been occasional customers of Geek Retreat for a few years, with the milkshakes always being a particular favourite with our kids! More recently, we’ve started going along to the Saturday morning kids’ Pokémon club, which is brilliant. It gives the kids a really friendly and relaxed place to learn how to play, meet and interact with other children, trade cards and enjoy the hobby together. Tom and his team are always welcoming, friendly and helpful, and Geek Retreat has quickly become our go-to place to chill out, buy some Pokémon cards and play a few games. A great little community and somewhere the kids always look forward to visiting. Highly recommended.

I have been coming here for a few months now and love the atmosphere. Tom and Izzy are a dream to chat to. They are advocates for fairness when it comes to new releases, one of the few places to actively try to help kids with Pokemon packs. They have a wonderful community here, and the food is fantastic

Denied products due to our age?? Went pokemon hunting around Harlow today to try and see if we could find any packs to rip. We luckily (so we thought) found Chaos Rising at the till. Apparently because we're 'Adults' that now means we are not allowed to open pokemon packs. As if battling scalpers to open packs was hard enough, it turns out we are now battling against Geek Retreat. I fully understand and respect certain measures being put into place to stop certain individuals from taking advantage of the pokemon community, but this is not the way to do it.

Nice surroundings and plenty of games. Overpriced food and drinks, grouchy owner/manager/staff member (wasn't sure what he was but got the impression he ran the place). Probably ideal to make it adults only given the approach here.

The Geek Retreat in Harlow is more than just a business where you can purchase food and drink while playing games—it's a vibrant community hub that brings people together through a variety of activities. Initially, I was hesitant to visit when my wife suggested it, thinking it wouldn't be my cup of tea. However, she convinced me to give it a try, and I've been coming down every weekend for the past six months with my son, Kieran. What I love most about The Geek Retreat is the opportunity to bond with my son through playing Magic: The Gathering. We both started as complete novices, but the friendly and helpful gaming community here has made learning the game a delightful experience. The staff are fantastic—welcoming, friendly, and always ready to help. The food is great, offering plenty of snacks and drinks. I often go for the unlimited coffee deal, while my son is a big fan of the chicken strips and Dr Pepper. The prices are comparable to any place where you can sit and eat, but what you're really paying for is the wonderful atmosphere to relax and enjoy. I also appreciate the excellent selection of rock and metal music that adds to the unique ambiance. The Geek Retreat has truly become a cherished part of our lives, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a friendly and engaging place to spend their time.
