Perfectly located to see both the Viaduct and Loch Shiel! I recommend getting there early as the crowds really start rolling in right after it opens. If you get there before it opens, you’ll get parking and you can visit both sites before heading to the cute shop with SO many fun things to take home.
Nice place to relax with a cup of joe after the hike. Coffee here is so-so. Clean public washroom onsite. It also has a tiny museum inside.
Amazing cafe, shop and museum. Very helpful and kind staff members. Car park is free if you’re a national trust member. Toilet facilities available
The Glenfinnan Viaduct Visitor Centre is very well positioned right by the car park and provides an excellent complement to the visit itself. What stood out in particular was the thoughtfully curated shop. While there is, of course, a selection of Harry Potter merchandise, the offering goes well beyond that. There is a genuinely appealing range of locally inspired products, including beautifully made items by regional artists and craftspeople, which gives the shop a distinctive and authentic feel. The adjoining café is equally pleasant, with a good selection of hot drinks and a number of vegan options available (don't forget to grab a can of the historic Irn-Bru!). Everything is well prepared, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. The staff throughout were consistently friendly and helpful. All in all, a very well-executed visitor centre that enhances the overall experience – well worth a stop in its own right.
The Glenfinnan Visitor Centre is excellent with a nice shopping area and very clean facilities. I was surprised to learn the building is quite new and it shows in the quality. I had no trouble finding a parking spot although I arrived about an hour early which might help. There are two paths to the viewpoint, one goes straight to the viaduct and is definitely the better option while the other is less impressive. Overall a great stop that makes the experience even more enjoyable.
